Lately I have been working for a customer in Davie, Florida, Jimmie's Chocolates, on restoring weather-worn Lion Sculptures. As you can see in the pictures below, I am breathing new life into these regal sculptures by giving them a new 'marble' finish. After recently having completed cataracts surgery in both eyes, I find that the new crystal clear lenses I am looking through give me a more "cool" bluing effect on what I can now see! Examining my artworks from the 1970's, 80's and newer made me realize that touch-up improvements were in order for some of my portrait paintings.
Today I began that process with Lady Sofia, Sir Lindsey and others at TRAX Art Studios in Oakland Park, Florida, where I currently have an exhibit of my artwork up until July 10th, 2016. Last week I was in Key West, Florida, making repairs to a large mural of Carlos Manuel deCespedes at the San Carlos Institute. I originally painted this mural in 1978 and it was a pleasure to bring it back to it's original beauty. A big Thank You to all involved in having me back for this restoration!
